Cookies Policy
Last updated: 12 August 2026. This page explains storage technologies on guide4uk.com and how you control them.
1. What we mean by cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device. We also use browser local storage for age confirmation and cookie preference flags. Together we call them “storage” in this notice. Storage helps the site remember choices and measure traffic when you allow it.
2. Essential storage
Essential items keep the service usable. The age-gate key (Guide4Uk_age) records that you confirmed you are 18+. The consent key (Guide4Uk_cookies) records whether you accepted or declined optional cookies. Without these, prompts would reappear on every visit and we could not respect a prior decline.
3. Optional analytics
If you press Accept on the banner, we may load light analytics that count page views, approximate region and referral sources. These tools help us see which guides need updates. They are not used to sell your profile to data brokers. If you Decline, we skip non-essential tags.
4. How consent works
The cookie banner appears after you pass the age gate and only if no prior choice exists. Accept and Decline both store a value and hide the banner. You can clear site data in your browser to reset the choice. Reloading after a clear will show the prompts again.
5. Third parties
Fonts may load from Google Fonts when your browser requests them. Outbound casino links lead to operators with their own cookies once you leave Guide4Uk. We do not control those destinations. Read their notices before creating an account.
6. Retention
Local storage keys remain until you delete them or we migrate to a new preference system. Analytics retention, where enabled, follows the vendor’s standard windows for aggregated reports. Server logs used for security are separate from marketing cookies and are described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Your controls
Browser settings let you block cookies, delete storage and enable “Do Not Track” signals. Blocking all cookies may break preference memory even when you previously declined optional tools. For privacy rights related to personal data, see our Privacy Policy or email dataprotection@guide4uk.com.
8. Updates
We revise this Cookies Policy when our tooling changes. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use after an update means you have seen the revised explanation of storage practices.
9. Contact
Questions about cookies: info@guide4uk.com. We aim to reply within a few working days. Gambling support remains available through GamCare and BeGambleAware — independent of Guide4Uk.
